10 Days Tanzania Safari And Zanzibar Package Price Guide 2026-2027

A 10-day Tanzania safari and Zanzibar package price in 2026-2027 typically ranges from $3,500 to $8,000+ per person, depending heavily on accommodation style (budget, mid-range, luxury), chosen safari parks, private vs. shared tours, and specific inclusions. This price often covers internal flights, park fees, accommodation, most meals during the safari, and transfers, with Zanzibar typically adding a separate cost for flights and accommodation.

Understanding the Cost of Your 10-Day Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Adventure for 2026-2027

Planning a trip that combines the impressive wildlife encounters of a Tanzania safari with the idyllic beaches of Zanzibar is a dream for many travelers. When considering a 10-day itinerary, understanding the associated costs is crucial for effective budgeting and trip planning. The 10 Days Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Package Price is not a single fixed figure; it’s a dynamic calculation influenced by numerous factors that we, at Top Guide Adventures, meticulously detail to ensure transparency for our clients looking ahead to 2026 and 2027.

This comprehensive guide will break down the typical price components, offer realistic cost ranges, and highlight what influences the final quote. Our aim is to equip you with the knowledge to make informed decisions, whether you’re seeking a budget-friendly adventure or a luxurious escape.

Key Determinants of Your 10-Day Package Price

The final price tag for your 10-day Tanzania safari and Zanzibar package is a mosaic of various elements. Recognizing these will help you understand where your investment goes and how to tailor your trip to your budget.

  • Accommodation Level: This is arguably the most significant cost driver. Options range from comfortable tented camps and basic lodges to opulent lodges and boutique hotels. Luxury accommodations naturally command higher prices due to superior amenities, service, and exclusivity.
  • Safari Parks Visited: Different national parks and conservation areas have varying park entry fees. Parks like the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, while iconic, often have higher daily fees than some southern circuit parks. A 10-day itinerary might focus on the Northern Circuit (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara) or explore the less crowded Southern Circuit (Selous, Ruaha).
  • Group Size and Vehicle Type: Opting for a private safari offers more flexibility and personalized attention but comes at a higher cost per person compared to joining a shared or group safari. The type of safari vehicle (e.g., 4×4 Land Cruiser vs. Land Rover) can also subtly affect pricing, though quality and comfort are paramount for us.
  • Time of Year (Seasonality): Travel during peak seasons (June to October, and December to February) generally means higher prices due to increased demand and lodge availability. The shoulder seasons (e.g., March to May, though this can be a rainy season) might offer slightly lower rates.
  • Duration of Safari vs. Zanzibar Stay: While the package is for 10 days total, the split between safari days and Zanzibar days impacts the cost. More safari days with extensive park fees and lodge stays will increase the overall price compared to a shorter safari coupled with a longer beach stay.
  • Inclusions: A comprehensive package will include park fees, accommodation, meals during the safari, a professional guide, and safari vehicle. However, some packages might exclude internal flights (e.g., between safari airstrips and Zanzibar), drinks, tips, and personal expenses. Zanzibar costs will often include flights from the mainland, accommodation, and possibly some water sports.
  • Level of Service and Guiding: The expertise and experience of your safari guide, the quality of service at lodges, and the overall support from the tour operator contribute to the value and price. Top Guide Adventures prides itself on offering exceptional service and knowledgeable guides.

Typical Price Ranges for a 10-Day Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Package (2026-2027 Estimates)

To provide a clearer picture, here are estimated price ranges based on different travel styles. These are indicative for 2026 and 2027 trips and are always subject to specific itinerary choices and availability.

Estimated 10-Day Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Package Prices Per Person (2026-2027)

Travel Style Estimated Price Range (USD) Key Features
Budget/Value $3,500 – $4,800 Comfortable mid-range lodges/tented camps, shared safari vehicle, focus on essential inclusions, potentially fewer parks.
Mid-Range Comfort $4,800 – $6,500 Well-appointed lodges and tented camps, mix of private/shared options, excellent guiding, comprehensive inclusions, popular parks.
Luxury/Premium $6,500 – $8,000+ High-end lodges and exclusive tented camps, private safari vehicle and guide, premium services, fine dining, often including internal flights and select activities.

Note: These prices are estimates for 2026-2027 and are based on double occupancy. Single supplements may apply. Prices do not typically include international flights, visa fees, travel insurance, personal tips, or alcoholic beverages unless specified.

Breaking Down the Costs: What’s Usually Included in a 10-Day Safari & Zanzibar Package?

When you book a package with Top Guide Adventures, we aim for clarity. A typical 10-day itinerary combining safari and Zanzibar will generally include the following:

    • Accommodation: Nights in selected lodges or tented camps.
    • Meals: Typically breakfast, lunch, and dinner during safari days.
    • Park Entrance Fees: Daily fees for all national parks and conservation areas visited.
    • Game Drives: Full-day or half-day game drives in a 4×4 safari vehicle.
    • Professional Safari Guide: An experienced, English-speaking guide.
    • Vehicle and Fuel: Use of a customized safari vehicle with fuel.
    • Water: Bottled drinking water in the safari vehicle.
    • Airport/Airstrip Transfers: Pick-up and drop-off at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport.
  • Zanzibar Portion:
    • Internal Flight: One-way flight from a safari airstrip (e.g., Seronera, Arusha) to Zanzibar.
    • Accommodation: Nights in a beach hotel or resort.
    • Meals: Often breakfast and dinner (half-board) or full board, depending on the resort and package.
    • Transfers: Airport transfers in Zanzibar and transfers to/from your hotel.
  • Other:
    • Concession Fees: Where applicable, especially in private concessions.
    • Crater Service Fee: For Ngorongoro Crater access.

What’s Typically Excluded from the 10-Day Package Price?

It’s equally important to know what might not be covered to avoid unexpected expenses:

  • International Flights: Your flights to and from Tanzania (e.g., to JRO).
  • Visa Fees: Cost of your Tanzanian visa.
  • Travel Insurance: Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is highly recommended.
  • Drinks: Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks (unless specified).
  • Tips: For safari guides, lodge staff, and drivers.
  • Personal Expenses: Souvenirs, laundry, optional activities (e.g., hot air balloon safari, spice tours not included).
  • Gratuities: Tips for guides and lodge staff.
  • Vaccinations and Medications: Costs associated with any required health preparations.

Crafting Your Ideal 10-Day Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Itinerary for 2026-2027

The structure of your 10 days significantly impacts the experience and, consequently, the price. Here are common itinerary frameworks that influence the 10 Days Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Package Price.

Option 1: The Northern Circuit Classic (5 Days Safari + 5 Days Zanzibar)

This is the most popular configuration, offering a taste of Tanzania’s most famous wildlife destinations.

Sample Itinerary Flow:

  • Day 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), transfer to Arusha.
  • Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park (game drive).
  • Day 3: Tarangire to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (game drive, overnight on crater rim or nearby).
  • Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater descent and game drive, transfer to Serengeti National Park.
  • Day 5: Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park.
  • Day 6: Morning game drive in Serengeti, fly from Seronera Airstrip to Zanzibar. Transfer to beach hotel.
  • Day 7-9: Relaxation and activities in Zanzibar (e.g., Stone Town tour, spice tour, snorkeling).
  • Day 10: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport for departure.

Price Impact: This itinerary involves high-demand parks with significant park fees (Serengeti, Ngorongoro). Internal flights are necessary. The 5 days of safari mean more lodge nights and daily park fees.

Option 2: Southern Circuit Explorer (5 Days Safari + 5 Days Zanzibar)

For those seeking a wilder, less crowded experience, the Southern Circuit offers incredible game viewing with a different feel.

Sample Itinerary Flow:

  • Day 1: Arrive at JRO, transfer to Arusha.
  • Day 2: Fly from Arusha to Selous Game Reserve (now Nyerere National Park). Afternoon game drive/boat safari.
  • Day 3: Full day game viewing in Selous.
  • Day 4: Fly from Selous to Ruaha National Park. Afternoon game drive.
  • Day 5: Full day game viewing in Ruaha.
  • Day 6: Fly from Ruaha to Zanzibar. Transfer to beach hotel.
  • Day 7-9: Relaxation and activities in Zanzibar.
  • Day 10: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport for departure.

Price Impact: While park fees might be slightly lower in some southern parks, the logistics often involve more internal flights, which can increase costs. However, accommodation might be more competitively priced than in prime Northern Circuit locations, especially for luxury camps.

Option 3: Mixed Circuit Focus (e.g., 3 Days Northern Safari + 7 Days Zanzibar)

This option prioritizes beach time while still experiencing a condensed safari.

Sample Itinerary Flow:

  • Day 1: Arrive at JRO, transfer to Arusha.
  • Day 2: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park or Tarangire National Park.
  • Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater game drive.
  • Day 4: Fly from Arusha Airport to Zanzibar. Transfer to beach hotel.
  • Day 5-9: Extended relaxation and exploration in Zanzibar (e.g., Stone Town, Prison Island, Jozani Forest).
  • Day 10: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport for departure.

Price Impact: Fewer safari days mean fewer park fees and lodge nights, potentially lowering the safari component cost. This allows for more budget to be allocated to higher-end Zanzibar accommodation or activities, potentially making the overall 10 Days Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Package Price more accessible or allowing for an upgrade elsewhere.

Factors Influencing 2026-2027 Pricing: What to Watch For

As you plan for 2026 and 2027, consider these specific factors that can affect your budget:

1. Accommodation Choices: From Tented Camps to Luxury Lodges

Your choice of lodging is paramount. Here’s a general breakdown:

  • Budget-Friendly: Basic lodges, guesthouses in Arusha, and well-equipped but simpler tented camps in the parks. Expect shared facilities in some cases or more rustic charm.
  • Mid-Range: Comfortable lodges and permanent tented camps with en-suite bathrooms, good amenities, and excellent locations. These often represent the best value for money, offering a great balance of comfort and authentic safari experience.
  • Luxury: High-end lodges and exclusive tented camps offering gourmet dining, private plunge pools, exceptional service, prime locations with stunning views, and often personalized touches.
  • Zanzibar: From charming boutique hotels in Stone Town to all-inclusive beachfront resorts, Zanzibar offers a wide spectrum. Prices vary significantly based on location (e.g., Nungwi vs. Jambiani), amenities, and meal plans (B&B, Half Board, Full Board, All-Inclusive).

2. Park Fees and Conservation Levies (2026-2027 Updates)

Park fees are a significant and non-negotiable part of any safari cost. While exact figures for 2026-2027 are set annually by TANAPA (Tanzania National Parks Authority) and NCAA (Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority), historical trends suggest they remain relatively stable with minor adjustments. For reference, current fees for popular parks are:

  • Serengeti National Park: Approximately $70-80 per person per day + vehicle fees.
  • Ngorongoro Crater: Approximately $300 per vehicle per day + $70-80 per person per day.
  • Tarangire National Park: Approximately $50-60 per person per day + vehicle fees.
  • Lake Manyara National Park: Approximately $50-60 per person per day + vehicle fees.

These fees are usually bundled into your package price. Remember, these are subject to change for 2026-2027, but your tour operator will provide the most current information.

3. Internal Flights: Connecting Your Adventure

For a 10-day itinerary, especially combining safari and Zanzibar, internal flights are often essential for maximizing time. A flight from Arusha or a Serengeti airstrip to Zanzibar can cost between $300 and $500 per person, one-way. This cost is usually included in packages that emphasize convenience and efficiency.

4. Private vs. Shared Safaris: Flexibility vs. Cost

* Shared Safaris: You share a safari vehicle with other travelers (typically a maximum of 6-7 people). This is a more budget-friendly option, ideal for solo travelers or couples looking to save costs. The 10 Days Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Package Price will be lower.
* Private Safaris: You have a dedicated safari vehicle and guide solely for your group. This offers maximum flexibility in terms of timing, pace, and game drive duration. It’s perfect for families, groups of friends, or those seeking a highly personalized experience. The price per person will be higher, but the value in terms of exclusivity and customization is substantial.

5. Seasonality: Peak, Shoulder, and Low Seasons

* Peak Season (June – October, December – February): High demand, stable weather, and the Great Migration often in the Serengeti. Prices are at their highest.
* Shoulder Season (March – May, November): Weather can be variable (March-May can be rainy), but fewer crowds and potentially slightly lower lodge rates. November is often a good value month.
* Low Season (April – May): Generally the wettest months, though rains are often short-lived. Lodges may offer significant discounts. However, game viewing can be more challenging in some areas due to dense vegetation and off-road driving restrictions.

For 2026-2027 planning, booking well in advance for peak season is highly recommended, especially if you have specific lodge preferences.

Maximizing Value: Tips for Your 10-Day Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Trip

To ensure you get the best value for your 10 Days Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Package Price, consider these tips:

  • Book in Advance: Especially for 2026-2027 travel during peak seasons. Early booking secures preferred lodges and potentially better rates.
  • Travel During Shoulder Seasons: If your schedule allows, consider November or March-May for potentially lower prices and fewer crowds.
  • Be Flexible with Accommodation: While luxury is appealing, well-chosen mid-range lodges offer excellent experiences at a more accessible price point.
  • Consider Group Travel: Sharing costs with friends or family can significantly reduce the per-person price, especially for private safaris.
  • Communicate Your Budget: Be upfront with your tour operator about your budget. They can help tailor an itinerary that maximizes your experience within your financial limits. Top Guide Adventures specializes in creating customized itineraries.
  • Understand Inclusions: Carefully review what is and isn’t included in your package to budget for extras.
  • Look for Package Deals: Tour operators often create packages that offer better value than booking individual components.

Example Scenario: Estimating a Mid-Range 10-Day Package for 2027

Let’s illustrate with a hypothetical mid-range 10 Days Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Package Price for two people traveling in July 2027 (peak season):

  • Safari (5 Days – Northern Circuit):
    • Accommodation: Mid-range lodges/tented camps (e.g., similar to Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge, Serengeti Kati Kati Camp).
    • Inclusions: All park fees, Crater fees, vehicle, fuel, guide, all meals on safari, bottled water.
    • Estimated Safari Cost: ~$2,500 – $3,500 per person.
  • Internal Flight:
    • Serengeti Airstrip to Zanzibar: ~$400 per person.
  • Zanzibar (5 Days):
    • Accommodation: Mid-range beach hotel (e.g., similar to Karafuu Beach Resort, Neptune Pwani Beach Resort).
    • Inclusions: Half Board (breakfast & dinner), airport transfers.
    • Estimated Zanzibar Cost: ~$1,000 – $1,500 per person.
  • Total Estimated Package Price (Mid-Range, 2 people, July 2027): $3,900 – $5,400 per person.

This estimate highlights how different components add up. Luxury options would significantly increase this, while a more budget-conscious approach (e.g., fewer safari days, simpler accommodation) could lower it.

When you decide to book your 10 Days Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Package Price for 2026 or 2027, here are practical steps:

  • Book Flights Early: Secure your international flights once your safari and Zanzibar dates are confirmed.
  • Prepare for the Trip: Research visa requirements, necessary vaccinations, packing lists, and currency.

Frequently Asked Questions About 10-Day Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Packages

What is the best time of year for a 10-day Tanzania safari and Zanzibar trip in 2026-2027?

The dry seasons (June-October and December-February) are generally best for safari due to easier game viewing and pleasant weather. For Zanzibar, the dry periods are also ideal for beach holidays, though it’s warm year-round. Combining these means choosing a time that balances both; June-October is often considered prime time.

Can I customize a 10-day itinerary to include specific parks or activities?

Absolutely! Top Guide Adventures specializes in tailor-made journeys. Whether you want to add a day trip to a local village, focus on birdwatching in specific parks, or arrange for a hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti, we can incorporate these into your 10-day plan.

How much should I budget for tips on a 10-day trip?

Tipping is customary but not mandatory. A general guideline for a 10-day trip would be around $150-$250 per person, distributed among your safari guide, lodge staff, and Zanzibar hotel staff. Your tour operator can provide more specific recommendations.

Are there any hidden costs in a 10-day Tanzania safari and Zanzibar package?

With a reputable operator like Top Guide Adventures, hidden costs are minimized. The main items typically excluded are international flights, visas, travel insurance, tips, drinks, and personal expenses. Always clarify inclusions and exclusions with your provider.

What is the typical flight path for a 10-day safari and Zanzibar package?

Most itineraries start with arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). The safari portion is usually within the Northern Circuit, ending with a flight from a Serengeti airstrip (like Seronera) or Arusha Airport directly to Zanzibar. You then depart from Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ).

How does the 2026-2027 pricing compare to previous years?

While exact figures for 2026-2027 are subject to annual adjustments, expect prices to remain relatively consistent with 2024-2025, potentially seeing minor increases due to inflation, fuel costs, and conservation efforts. Booking early is always advised to secure the best rates.
