Best Kilimanjaro Climb Routes 2026-2027

The best Kilimanjaro climb routes for 2026-2027, offering a balance of acclimatization, scenery, and success rates, are generally considered to be the Lemosho Route and the Machame Route. Both are popular for their excellent acclimatization profiles, stunning views, and higher summit success rates compared to shorter routes. The Lemosho route, often preferred for its scenic beauty and longer duration (7-8 days), provides superior acclimatization. The Machame route, typically 6-7 days, is also highly scenic and well-regarded for its challenging yet rewarding ascent. When planning for 2026 or 2027, consider your fitness, budget, desired scenery, and available time to make the optimal choice.

Understanding Kilimanjaro’s Routes: Your Gateway to the Roof of Africa

Mount Kilimanjaro, the majestic free-standing mountain and the highest peak in Africa, beckons adventurers from around the globe. For many, reaching its summit is a lifelong dream, a pinnacle of personal achievement. But before you lace up your boots and pack your gear for a 2026 or 2027 expedition, the most critical decision you’ll face is selecting the best Kilimanjaro climb route. This choice profoundly impacts your experience, influencing everything from acclimatization and scenery to your chances of reaching Uhuru Peak.

At Top Guide Adventures, we understand that each climber has unique aspirations. Whether you prioritize the highest success rate, the most dramatic landscapes, or the most economical option, there is a route that fits. This comprehensive guide will dissect each of Kilimanjaro’s primary climbing routes, offering detailed comparisons to help you make an informed decision for your 2026-2027 adventure. We’ll explore their durations, difficulty levels, acclimatization strategies, scenery, and the crucial factor of summit success rates.

Choosing the right route is not just about getting to the top; it’s about the journey itself. A well-chosen route enhances your body’s ability to adapt to the altitude, minimizes the risk of altitude sickness, and allows you to truly appreciate the diverse ecosystems Kilimanjaro traverses, from lush rainforests to alpine deserts and the glacial zone.

Key Factors When Choosing Your Kilimanjaro Route

Before diving into the specifics of each path, let’s outline the critical elements that differentiate Kilimanjaro’s routes and should guide your selection for a 2026-2027 climb:

  • Duration and Acclimatization: This is arguably the most important factor. Longer routes (7-8 days) allow for better acclimatization, significantly increasing your chances of reaching the summit and reducing the risk of altitude sickness. Shorter routes (5-6 days) are faster but put your body under greater stress.
  • Success Rate: While no operator can guarantee a 100% success rate due to individual physiology and weather, longer routes with better acclimatization consistently show higher success rates.
  • Scenery and Scenography: Kilimanjaro is a mountain of diverse beauty. Some routes offer more varied and spectacular views, traversing different ecological zones more dramatically than others.
  • Difficulty and Physical Demands: All Kilimanjaro routes are challenging due to the altitude. However, some have steeper ascents, more technical sections (though generally not requiring technical climbing gear), or longer daily trekking distances.
  • Crowds: Popular routes can be busy, especially during peak seasons. If you prefer a quieter experience, some less-trafficked routes might be more appealing.
  • Starting Point and Logistics: Routes begin from different gates and have varying logistical requirements, which can influence cost and accessibility.
  • Cost: Generally, longer routes with more services tend to be more expensive. However, the value of a higher success rate and a more comfortable experience often outweighs the extra cost.

Let’s now explore the most popular and recommended Kilimanjaro climb routes, evaluating them against these crucial factors for your 2026-2027 expedition.

The Marangu Route: “Coca-Cola” or “Tourist” Route

The Marangu route is the oldest and arguably the most famous path up Kilimanjaro. It’s often nicknamed the “Coca-Cola” or “Tourist” route due to its relative ease and the availability of dormitory-style huts for accommodation, a unique feature among Kilimanjaro routes. While it offers a different camping experience, its direct ascent and shorter duration are significant drawbacks for acclimatization.

Marangu Route at a Glance (2026-2027)

  • Duration: 5 or 6 days
  • Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult (primarily due to altitude and rapid ascent)
  • Acclimatization: Poor
  • Scenery: Moderate, less varied than other routes
  • Accommodation: Huts
  • Crowds: High
  • Success Rate: Lower (especially on the 5-day option)
  • Starting Point: Marangu Gate

Pros of the Marangu Route

  • Hut Accommodation: The only route offering sleeping huts, providing a more comfortable and sheltered experience than camping, especially during rainy weather.
  • Cost-Effective: Often the cheapest option due to shorter duration and less equipment needed (no tents, mattresses, etc.).
  • Direct Ascent: A straightforward path, making navigation simple.

Cons of the Marangu Route

  • Poor Acclimatization: The direct ascent profile leads to a rapid gain in altitude, significantly increasing the risk of altitude sickness and lowering success rates. The 5-day option is particularly risky.
  • Less Scenic: It ascends and descends the same path, offering less diverse scenery compared to routes that circle the mountain.
  • Crowded: Due to its popularity and lower cost, it can be very crowded, especially during peak seasons.

Who Should Choose Marangu?

The Marangu route is generally not recommended by experienced guides for those prioritizing a successful and safe summit experience, especially for first-time trekkers. The 6-day option offers slightly better acclimatization than the 5-day, but it still falls short compared to other routes. It might be considered by budget-conscious travelers who have a very high level of fitness, are already well-acclimatized to altitude, or are seeking the comfort of huts over camping. For most adventurers planning for 2026-2027, better options exist.

The Machame Route: The “Whiskey” Route

The Machame route, often called the “Whiskey” route (as opposed to Marangu’s “Coca-Cola”), is one of the most popular and scenic routes on Kilimanjaro. It is known for its excellent acclimatization profile, beautiful landscapes, and relatively high success rate, typically taking 6 or 7 days to complete.

Machame Route at a Glance (2026-2027)

  • Duration: 6 or 7 days
  • Difficulty: Difficult
  • Acclimatization: Good (especially the 7-day option)
  • Scenery: Excellent, very diverse
  • Accommodation: Camping
  • Crowds: High
  • Success Rate: High (especially the 7-day option)
  • Starting Point: Machame Gate

Pros of the Machame Route

  • Excellent Acclimatization: The “climb high, sleep low” principle is well-applied on this route, significantly aiding acclimatization and increasing summit success. The 7-day version is strongly recommended for this reason.
  • Stunning Scenery: It offers impressive views as it traverses the southern hemisphere of Kilimanjaro, passing through rainforest, moorland, and alpine desert.
  • High Success Rate: Consistently ranks among the routes with the highest summit success rates.
  • Camping Experience: Provides a true wilderness experience with nights spent in tents.

Cons of the Machame Route

  • Crowded: Its popularity means it can be busy, especially during peak seasons.
  • Steep Ascent: Some sections are quite steep, particularly the “Barranco Wall,” which can be challenging for some climbers.
  • No Hut Accommodation: Requires camping, which might not appeal to everyone.

Who Should Choose Machame?

The Machame route is an excellent choice for most climbers planning a 2026-2027 ascent. It’s ideal for those seeking a good balance of acclimatization, scenery, and success. The 7-day Machame itinerary is particularly recommended for first-time Kilimanjaro climbers. It’s a challenging trek that requires good physical fitness, but its well-structured ascent profile makes it one of the most rewarding ways to reach the summit.

Top Guide Adventures Recommendation for Machame

We highly recommend the 7-day Machame route for your 2026-2027 Kilimanjaro climb. This extra day provides crucial additional acclimatization, significantly boosting your chances of a safe and successful summit. It also allows for a more relaxed pace, enabling you to better appreciate the incredible scenery. Check our Machame route departure dates for 2026 and 2027 to plan your climb.

The Lemosho Route: The Most Scenic Route

The Lemosho route is widely regarded as the most beautiful and scenic route on Kilimanjaro. It starts in the west, offering stunning panoramic views and a gradual ascent that greatly aids acclimatization. It is typically climbed over 7 or 8 days, making it one of the best options for summit success.

Lemosho Route at a Glance (2026-2027)

  • Duration: 7 or 8 days
  • Difficulty: Difficult
  • Acclimatization: Excellent
  • Scenery: Exceptional, most varied and dramatic
  • Accommodation: Camping
  • Crowds: Moderate (less crowded initially, joins Shira Ridge)
  • Success Rate: Very High
  • Starting Point: Lemosho Gate (far west)

Pros of the Lemosho Route

  • Superb Scenery: Its western start provides unparalleled views of the mountain’s massif and the surrounding plains, including the Shira Plateau. The initial days through pristine rainforest are particularly beautiful.
  • Excellent Acclimatization: The longer duration and gradual ascent profile offer the best acclimatization, leading to very high summit success rates. The 8-day option is ideal.
  • Less Crowded (Initially): For the first couple of days, you’ll experience a more remote and tranquil trek before it joins the Machame route.
  • High Success Rate: Among the highest success rates due to superior acclimatization.

Cons of the Lemosho Route

  • Cost: Generally more expensive than Marangu or Machame due to its longer duration and more remote starting point, requiring extra transport.
  • Remote Start: The drive to the Lemosho Gate is longer and rougher than to other starting points.
  • Camping Experience: Requires camping throughout.

Who Should Choose Lemosho?

The Lemosho route is the top recommendation for climbers who prioritize scenery and acclimatization, and who have the time and budget for a longer trek. It’s perfect for those who want the best possible chance of reaching the summit comfortably and who wish to experience Kilimanjaro’s diverse landscapes in their most pristine form. For your 2026-2027 climb, if you’re looking for the ultimate Kilimanjaro experience, Lemosho is hard to beat.

The Shira Route: A Scenic Alternative

The Shira route is similar to Lemosho in its western start and scenic beauty, but it begins at a higher altitude. This means the initial days are spent traversing the Shira Plateau, offering dramatic views but also presenting an immediate acclimatization challenge.

Shira Route at a Glance (2026-2027)

  • Duration: 7 or 8 days
  • Difficulty: Difficult
  • Acclimatization: Moderate (higher initial altitude can be challenging)
  • Scenery: Excellent, particularly the Shira Plateau
  • Accommodation: Camping
  • Crowds: Moderate (joins Lemosho/Machame)
  • Success Rate: Moderate to High (depends heavily on individual acclimatization)
  • Starting Point: Shira Gate

Pros of the Shira Route

  • Spectacular Scenery: The Shira Plateau is one of Kilimanjaro’s most stunning areas, offering vast, open landscapes and incredible mountain vistas.
  • Unique Experience: Trekking across the plateau is a memorable part of the journey.
  • Joins Lemosho/Machame: Benefits from the established infrastructure and acclimatization profile of these popular routes after the plateau.

Cons of the Shira Route

  • Higher Starting Altitude: The initial high altitude of the Shira Plateau can be challenging for acclimatization, potentially leading to altitude sickness if not managed carefully.
  • Steeper Initial Ascent: The first couple of days involve significant altitude gain.
  • Cost: Similar to Lemosho, it’s a longer and more remote route, thus more expensive.

Who Should Choose Shira?

The Shira route is best suited for trekkers who have prior experience with high-altitude trekking and are confident in their ability to acclimatize quickly. It offers a visually rewarding experience but requires careful monitoring for altitude sickness. For those considering it for 2026-2027, ensuring you book a 7 or 8-day itinerary is crucial for better acclimatization.

The Rongai Route: The Most Arid Route

The Rongai route approaches Kilimanjaro from the north, near the Kenyan border. This makes it the driest route, an advantage during the rainy seasons. It’s generally considered a more challenging route due to its less gradual acclimatization profile compared to Lemosho or Machame, though it is often less crowded.

Rongai Route at a Glance (2026-2027)

  • Duration: 6 or 7 days
  • Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult
  • Acclimatization: Moderate
  • Scenery: Moderate, drier landscapes
  • Accommodation: Camping
  • Crowds: Low (initially)
  • Success Rate: Moderate to High (better on 7-day option)
  • Starting Point: Rongai Gate (north)

Pros of the Rongai Route

  • Drier Climate: Its northern approach means it receives less rainfall, making it a good option during the rainy seasons (April-May and November).
  • Less Crowded: Offers a more solitary trekking experience, especially in the initial days.
  • Good Scenery: While drier, it offers unique views of the northern slopes and Kenya.

Cons of the Rongai Route

  • Less Varied Scenery: The landscapes are generally drier and less lush compared to southern routes.
  • Steeper Ascent: The final ascent from the Saddle to Stella Point is quite steep.
  • Acclimatization: While decent on the 7-day option, it’s not as optimal as Lemosho or Machame.

Who Should Choose Rongai?

The Rongai route is a viable option for those who want to avoid crowds and climb during the shoulder seasons or rainy periods. It’s also suitable for trekkers seeking a different perspective of Kilimanjaro. For your 2026-2027 climb, consider Rongai if you’re looking for a less-trafficked path and don’t mind the drier terrain. The 7-day itinerary is recommended for better acclimatization and summit success.

The Northern Circuit Route: The Longest and Most Scenic

The Northern Circuit is the longest route on Kilimanjaro, typically taking 9 days. It circles the mountain entirely, offering the best acclimatization, the most diverse scenery, and the highest success rates among all routes. It is also the least crowded.

Northern Circuit Route at a Glance (2026-2027)

  • Duration: 9 days
  • Difficulty: Difficult
  • Acclimatization: Excellent
  • Scenery: Exceptional, most varied and comprehensive
  • Accommodation: Camping
  • Crowds: Very Low
  • Success Rate: Highest
  • Starting Point: Lemosho Gate (far west)

Pros of the Northern Circuit Route

  • Superior Acclimatization: The longest duration provides the best possible acclimatization, significantly reducing the risk of altitude sickness and maximizing summit success.
  • Unrivaled Scenery: It offers the most comprehensive views, traversing diverse ecosystems and providing unique perspectives from the northern slopes.
  • Lowest Crowds: Being the longest and less popular, it offers a truly remote and tranquil mountain experience.
  • Highest Success Rate: Consistently boasts the highest summit success rates.

Cons of the Northern Circuit Route

  • Cost: The longest duration makes it the most expensive route.
  • Time Commitment: Requires a significant time commitment.
  • Camping Experience: Requires camping throughout.

Who Should Choose Northern Circuit?

The Northern Circuit is the ultimate Kilimanjaro trek for those who want the very best experience: unparalleled scenery, optimal acclimatization, the highest chance of summiting, and a peaceful, remote trek. If you have the time, budget, and desire for a comprehensive Kilimanjaro adventure for 2026-2027, this route is the pinnacle.

The Umbwe Route: The Toughest Route

The Umbwe route is the shortest, steepest, and most direct path to the summit. It is known for its challenging nature and poor acclimatization profile, making it suitable only for very experienced high-altitude trekkers.

Umbwe Route at a Glance (2026-2027)

  • Duration: 5 or 6 days
  • Difficulty: Very Difficult
  • Acclimatization: Poor
  • Scenery: Steep and direct, less scenic variety
  • Accommodation: Camping
  • Crowds: Low
  • Success Rate: Lowest
  • Starting Point: Umbwe Gate

Pros of the Umbwe Route

  • Direct and Steep: For those seeking a raw, challenging ascent.
  • Less Crowded: Offers a solitary experience.

Cons of the Umbwe Route

  • Poor Acclimatization: Rapid altitude gain leads to very high risk of altitude sickness.
  • Low Success Rate: The shortest duration and steepest ascent result in the lowest summit success rates.
  • Very Difficult: Physically and mentally demanding.

Who Should Choose Umbwe?

The Umbwe route is generally not recommended for most climbers. It is only suitable for highly experienced mountaineers with a proven history of successful high-altitude ascents who are specifically seeking an extreme challenge. For your 2026-2027 plans, unless you are an expert, we strongly advise against this route.

Important Note on Umbwe and 5-Day Marangu

Both the Umbwe route and the 5-day Marangu route are generally discouraged by reputable operators like Top Guide Adventures due to their poor acclimatization profiles and consequently low summit success rates. Prioritizing safety and success means choosing a route that allows your body adequate time to adjust to the altitude.

Choosing the Best Kilimanjaro Route for 2026-2027: Expert Advice

As you plan your Kilimanjaro expedition for 2026 or 2027, remember that the “best” route is subjective and depends on your personal priorities. However, based on extensive experience and success rates, Top Guide Adventures strongly recommends routes that offer at least 7 days on the mountain for optimal acclimatization.

For most climbers, the 7-day Machame Route or the 8-day Lemosho Route are the top contenders.

  • If scenery is your top priority and you have the time and budget: Choose the 8-day Lemosho Route or the 9-day Northern Circuit. These routes offer the most dramatic landscapes and the best acclimatization.
  • If you want an excellent balance of scenery, acclimatization, and success rate, and are comfortable with camping: The 7-day Machame Route is an outstanding choice. It’s popular for a reason – it works.
  • If you’re planning during the rainy season and prefer a drier path, or want fewer crowds: Consider the 7-day Rongai Route.

Avoid the 5-day Marangu and the 5 or 6-day Umbwe routes unless you are an extremely experienced high-altitude mountaineer with prior acclimatization success. The risk of altitude sickness and failure to summit is significantly higher on these shorter, more aggressive paths.

When booking for 2026-2027, always confirm the exact itinerary length with your tour operator. A “Machame” or “Lemosho” trek can sometimes be advertised as 6 days, but the 7 or 8-day versions offer a much better experience and higher success rate.

Preparing for Your Kilimanjaro Climb in 2026-2027

Regardless of the route you choose, proper preparation is paramount for a successful and safe climb. This involves physical training, mental readiness, and meticulous gear selection.

Physical Training

Kilimanjaro is a challenging trek, not a technical climb. However, you need excellent cardiovascular fitness and stamina. Focus on:

  • Cardiovascular Exercise: Aim for at least 3-4 sessions per week, including hiking with a backpack, running, cycling, or swimming.
  • Strength Training: Focus on leg strength (squats, lunges) and core strength.
  • Hiking: The most crucial training. Hike regularly, ideally on inclines, wearing the boots and backpack you’ll use on Kilimanjaro. Gradually increase the duration and elevation gain. Train for long days on your feet.

Mental Preparation

The mental aspect of climbing Kilimanjaro is as important as the physical. Be prepared for:

  • Altitude Effects: Understand that you will likely experience some symptoms of altitude sickness (headache, nausea). Knowing how to manage these and trusting your guide is key.
  • Challenging Conditions: The summit night is cold, dark, and physically demanding. Be prepared for discomfort and the need to push through.
  • Patience: The “pole pole” (slowly, slowly) pace is essential for acclimatization and managing energy.

Essential Gear

Proper gear is vital for comfort and safety. Key items include:

  • Layering System: Base layers, mid-layers (fleece), and an outer waterproof/windproof shell.
  • Footwear: Broken-in, waterproof hiking boots with good ankle support.
  • Sleeping Bag: A warm, 4-season sleeping bag rated for at least -10°C (14°F).
  • Headlamp: With extra batteries.
  • Sun Protection: High SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and lip balm.
  • Hydration: Water bottles or a hydration reservoir (Camelbak).
  • Trekking Poles: Highly recommended to reduce strain on knees.

Your tour operator, like Top Guide Adventures, will provide a detailed packing list. We can also help you source or rent essential gear.

Kilimanjaro Climbing Seasons for 2026-2027

Understanding the best times to climb Kilimanjaro is crucial for a successful and enjoyable experience. The mountain has distinct seasons, each with its advantages and disadvantages:

  • January to March: Generally dry and warm, with good visibility. This is a popular time to climb, especially for the Chinese New Year and Christmas holidays. Can be very cold at the summit.
  • April to May: The long rainy season. These months are generally not recommended for climbing due to heavy rainfall, especially in the lower rainforest zone, leading to muddy trails and poor visibility.
  • June: Shoulder season. Rainfall decreases, and conditions improve. A good month to climb if you want to avoid peak season crowds.
  • July to October: The main dry season. This is the peak climbing season, offering clear skies, excellent visibility, and moderate temperatures. It can be cold at the summit. These months are very popular for 2026-2027 climbs.
  • November: The short rainy season. Expect intermittent showers, but often not as heavy as the long rains. Visibility can be good between showers.
  • December: Shoulder season. Rainfall decreases towards the end of the month. A good option for those seeking fewer crowds than July-October, but be prepared for potential rain. Popular for New Year’s expeditions.

The best Kilimanjaro climb routes are enjoyable year-round, but choosing the right season can significantly impact your comfort and views. For 2026-2027, the dry seasons (July-October and January-March) are the most popular and offer the best chance of clear weather, although they also mean more fellow climbers on the popular routes.

Understanding Altitude Sickness on Kilimanjaro

Altitude sickness, or Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), is the most significant risk on any Kilimanjaro climb. It occurs when your body fails to adapt quickly enough to the lower oxygen levels at higher altitudes. Recognizing the symptoms and understanding how to manage them is vital for safety.

Symptoms of AMS

Symptoms typically appear within 12-24 hours of ascending to a higher altitude and can range from mild to severe:

  • Mild AMS: Headache, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, difficulty sleeping.
  • Moderate AMS: Worsening of mild symptoms, increased breathlessness, reduced coordination (ataxia).
  • Severe AMS: Severe headache unresponsive to medication, vomiting, confusion, disorientation, extreme fatigue, shortness of breath even at rest, fluid in lungs (HAPE) or brain (HACE).

Prevention and Management

The best strategy is prevention:

  • Choose a Longer Route: This is the single most effective preventative measure. Routes like Lemosho (8 days) and Northern Circuit (9 days) offer superior acclimatization. The 7-day Machame is also excellent.
  • Ascend Slowly: Follow the principle of “pole pole” (slowly, slowly). Your guides will ensure you maintain a slow, steady pace.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water (3-4 liters per day).
  • Eat Well: Maintain energy levels with regular meals.
  • Avoid Alcohol and Smoking: These can exacerbate altitude sickness.
  • Consider Diamox (Acetazolamide): Consult your doctor about using Diamox. It can help speed up acclimatization but does not replace proper ascent and hydration.

What to Do If You Get AMS

The golden rule is: if you feel symptoms of AMS, inform your guide immediately. Do not ascend further.

  • Descend: The most effective treatment for moderate to severe AMS is immediate descent, even just 300-500 meters.
  • Rest: Avoid exertion.
  • Medication: Your guide may administer oxygen or medication if necessary.

Your safety is our top priority at Top Guide Adventures. Our guides are highly trained in recognizing and managing altitude sickness, and they will make critical decisions about your well-being on the mountain.

The Summit Night: Your Ultimate Challenge

Summit night is the culmination of your Kilimanjaro journey. It typically begins around midnight from the last camp (e.g., Kibo Hut on most routes, Barafu Camp on others) and involves a strenuous, steep ascent to Stella Point (5756m) and then a final push to Uhuru Peak (5895m). This is the most challenging part of the climb, and understanding what to expect is key.

  • Cold: Temperatures can drop to -10°C to -20°C (14°F to -4°F), with wind chill making it feel even colder.
  • Darkness: You’ll be climbing through the night using headlamps.
  • Steepness: The scree slopes are steep and can be tiring.
  • Altitude: You are at extreme altitudes, where oxygen levels are about half of those at sea level.
  • Duration: The summit push can take 6-8 hours from camp to Stella Point, followed by another 1-2 hours to Uhuru Peak.

Key to Success on Summit Night:

  • Pace Yourself: Walk “pole pole.”
  • Stay Hydrated: Sip water regularly, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
  • Eat Energy Snacks: Keep your energy levels up.
  • Layer Up: Wear all your warm layers.
  • Listen to Your Guide: They will monitor your condition and the weather.

Reaching Uhuru Peak at sunrise is an unforgettable experience, a moment of immense accomplishment. The descent, while physically demanding, is often faster and offers incredible views of the crater and the path you’ve climbed.

Choosing Your Tour Operator for 2026-2027

The choice of tour operator is as crucial as the choice of route. A reputable company ensures your safety, comfort, and a higher chance of summit success. When selecting an operator for your 2026-2027 Kilimanjaro climb, consider:

  • Safety Record and Guide Training: Look for operators with well-trained guides knowledgeable in first aid and altitude sickness management.
  • Equipment Quality: Good quality tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, and cooking gear make a significant difference.
  • Itinerary Length: Operators who recommend 7-day or longer routes are prioritizing your acclimatization and success.
  • Porter Welfare: Responsible operators treat their porters ethically, ensuring fair wages, adequate food, and appropriate gear.
  • Group Size: Smaller groups often offer a more personalized experience.

We spent 6 Days in Tarangire National Park and were blown away. The elephant herds were massive, and the landscape with its iconic baobab trees is truly unique. Our guide knew the best spots to find wildlife and was excellent at explaining the ecosystem. The birdlife was also incredible. It was a fantastic experience, offering a different feel from other parks. Highly recommend dedicating a good amount of time to Tarangire, especially with a knowledgeable guide. We're hoping to return for a longer trip in 2026!

Great Meru Trek Intro
Alex R. · Australia · 21 Mar 2026

Did the 3 Days Mount Meru Trek from Arusha as a way to acclimatize before a bigger climb. It was a solid introduction to trekking in Tanzania. The views were amazing on clear days, and the forest was beautiful. It's a challenging few days but manageable. The guides were experienced and looked after us well. Happy with the overall experience, though a bit more time might have been nice to fully enjoy the summit atmosphere. A good option for a shorter mountain experience.

Unforgettable Kilimanjaro Adventure!
Alex · USA · 27 Jun 2026

Just got back from my 7 Days Machame Route Kilimanjaro Trek with Top Guide Adventures and wow, what an incredible experience! The entire team was amazing, from the initial planning to the summit night. Our guides were super knowledgeable, encouraging, and kept us safe every step of the way. The porters worked so hard, and the food was surprisingly delicious at camp each night. Reaching Uhuru Peak was a moment I'll cherish forever. Highly recommend this route for anyone looking for a challenging yet rewarding climb. Can't wait for our next adventure, maybe in 2026!
